The book comes with a compelling revelation that the actual medieval Dracula on whom Bram Stoker coined his ever horrid vampire’ Count Dracula’ was a Muslim. It portrays the never told life story of the fifteenth century Romanian prince, Vlad Tepes aka Vlad Dracula, who was forcibly converted to Islam at a young age by the Ottomans to be grown into their arch enemy killing over a thousand Muslims to avenge his anguish. The book has already become a hot topic as Times of India and India Today have reported on the book content.
The narration moves back and forth in time along with the monologues of Protagonist Dracula through a series of fictional diary notes and love letters. History and fiction collides in many places. The book’s tinsel adaptation is the movie ‘Saint Dracula 3D’, which is slated for a release across India on Good Friday. The movie directed by Rupesh Paul and produced by Biz TV Network has already raked up a number of controversies across the country, especially in Kerala where the Church organizations are whining for the ban on it terming the substance as anti- Christian. The movie came under the knife of the Censor Board and got its 13 intimate scenes chopped off, calling it as obscene.
